"Easy to use, but too light on the harness" 2010-06-18
By J. Livingston
I bought this as an extra stroller to keep in my car. I wanted a lightweight, simple-to-operate stroller that I could use when I was running errands, etc. I bought it because it seemed to fit my needs and the price was right (considering I already owned other, more "heavy-duty" strollers).

It was very easy to use, was lightweight and easily fit in my trunk. The real problem was that the harness was just a belt around my son's waist (and through his legs). It did not provide the type of restraint needed for my 16-month old wiggleworm! If your child is less energetic/curious than mine, it might be OK, but unfortunately I'm going to need to buy a different stroller with a 5-point harness.

"I really wanted to like this stroller, but 3 point harness? No way." 2010-06-16
By K. E Pearce (Santa Barbara, CA)
I ordered this stroller because of the reviews saying that taller people could use it well. The price was right, the color was right. I was really excited.

The minute that I put my 19-month-old into it, I was really unimpressed with the harness. It was so cheap. It also barely fit him without falling out.

Then we went rolling. He totally got out of the straps.

Maybe this would work for younger babies, but not for toddlers.

"Great all purpose, everyday stroller" 2008-10-09
By Mathilda Edmunds (Philadelphia, PA)
We got a high end stroller but it didn't collapse easily or fit in the storage area of the daycare so we broke down and got this stroller. After now using it almost every day for a few weeks, I can say that I have no regrets. It's well priced, can handle bumpy city sidewalks, and is a decent height with good handles so it doesn't break your back hunching over.

"Umbrella Holder or deep sea fishing" 2009-12-11
By J. Calhoun (Worthington, OH USA)
This is humongous, big enough to hold a deep sea fishing pole. Although made of heavy plastic, it it really sturdy. I attached this to a rollator (a walker cart for the infirm) and mounted the baby umbrella (which is really an extra large golf umbrella) in it. This works well, even in 60 MPH winds, and the adjustability of this mount, combined with the size and length of the umbrella, keeps both the person and the cart dry, regardless of wind direction. You could also mount this on a deck. Expensive, but worth it. Not just for babies.

"Nice but heavy and bulky" 2009-07-29
By Shorty (New York, New York)
I have attached this to our CityMini - It is great because it is versatile and will adapt to any umbrella. Terrible because it is a pain to get off and on and adds significant weight to the normally light baby jogger stroller. Also it is large and cumbersome so gets in the way of the rain canopy. I think we will be trying to find an umbrella with a clamp rather than continue to use this.

"Great Umbrella for a stoller" 2010-06-28
By B. Martinez
The day I received this umbrella I put it to use and it works really well. I am very happy with it and will continue recommeding it to others. I love that I can provide shade to my daughter and she can still feel the cooling breeze on a hot day.

The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is because it works best being mounted on the opposite side of the Sun and it takes more effort then I like to move it to the other side.

I suggest buying a second mount to make it easier.

 "Jeep Umbrella Stroller" 2010-03-07
By Nicole Roberson (Michigan)
Its a great stroller, functional and lightweight, and folds up nicely. I have no complaints about the product itself. The one I purchased however showed it had a bag on the backside, which I had never seen in the past, but when it came it did not. I'm assuming its standard not to have one in the back now, so just note that it does only have the two side small pocket storage.

"Can't beat if for the price" 2009-11-07
By Hope M. Sawyer
I have gone through my share of strollers and this one is a keeper for me. I love that it has suspension in the front wheels. The handles are taller than cheap umbrellas. (I'm only 5'3 and even I hate the short handles on those!)I've found that the bags on the side work for holding the kids drinks and a toy. I hang my diaper bag and purse off the handles and have never had any problem. I don't miss the useless under storage bag that you can't access anyway. I LOVE how light is is and i love the way it folds. You can do it with your foot and don't have to lean over. I have the older version with no cup holder and my seat doesn't recline. With those two added features I would have loved it even more. Works great for me for walks around the neighborhood, doesn't get stuck on twigs or rocks, rolls right over them. The only thing bad I can say is the footrest broke on one side after having it a year or two, but my son insisted on using it to stand on to get into the stroller and I knew that would happen after a while. Also, my six year old still rides in it occasionally. Even though it is narrow, it still fits his butt and that's all he cares about! Overall, you can't beat it for the price.

 "Pretty nice for $45" 2009-03-13
By JKay
I bought this at a local Walmart for around $45. It is better than your average umbrella stroller. The seat is a little short and therefore my child tends to slide forward. The reclining part is not that impressive, it only reclines a couple inches. I like the cargo bags, they can fit diapers, wipes, keys or other small stuff. I like that idea better than a basket under the stroller as those are hard to get your items in and out. Most cheap umbrella strollers have no storage so this is better than nothing. It is tall enough for me to push without leaning forward (5'6"). It rolls smoothly and turns easily. It folds and unfolds fairly easily. The frame is sturdy. The sun shade at first seemed a little oddly designed. It forms such a big, high arc, that I couldn't see it really being usefull, but it appears to work fine. It folds and unfolds easily and stays on when you fold and unfold the stroller. I think the 3 point harness is fine because the front part comes up really high on smaller babies and once the kid is older you don't have to worry so much about them falling forward unexpectedly. They might lean forward more easily in this harness as a toddler, but still, the three point harness should keep them in the seat.

"please do NOT buy this stroller" 2009-02-14
By D. Barka (nh)
I purchased this stroller about 6 months ago for my then 12 month old son. It was a decent stroller for the price. However, this past week, my son, now 18 months, was sitting in the stroller when the seat fabric ripped. The rip was down the side of the seat causing my son to fall backwards and into the hole in the fabric where his head became lodged. I had to literally cut the rest of the seat off in order to get his head out of it. Thankfully he is fine, minus a cut on his ear. I, of course, was not so fine and promptly called Kolcraft upon returning home. They were non-apologetic and could have cared less about my son's safety. After some badgering, they offered to send me a new seat. No thanks, I'll find a new stroller...

By mom1st (New York, NY)
This stroller is certainly light and looks exactly as pictured. It does not feel that sturdy but seemed okay. Most notably, I too was very surprised by how narrow it looked once I recieved it. Now, only a few months later my daughter looks very uncomfortable sitting in it...and forget reclining her in it! I now have to buy another stroller so unless you only want something to use while your child is quite small; trust me and go with another stroller. Oh, and by the way since I know some will assume children that do not fit are large - my daughter is somewhat tall and quite slender. Go ahead, look at the dimensions (I wish I had) this stroller is 17.5 inches wide and most others are 19.5

I have this stroller in Brown and I would be lost without it. I used it every day to walk about 2 miles to my daughters daycare. But it is easy to fold up and carry on the bus if need be. She loves it b/c she can just sit back and relax or lay all the way back if she falls asleep.

I like this stroller, and I have had many! It handles very well and has a great look about it.

My only real complaint, the brakes are difficult to release.

Also, it is not as small (when folded) or as light as I expected it to be.

If you know this going into it then it shouldn't be a problem!

I would recommend it.

 "Great find!" 2010-05-10
By Adriane L. Meeus
I know this is long, but I really wanted to highlight this stroller and some of the features we didn't even know about until after we got it. We purchased this stroller after a few weeks of research. As many other people have done before, we were ready to move on from the huge car seat/stroller combo and get a more compact set of baby wheels with some style.

After considering the Peg Perego P3 Pliko (USED mind you wow $$$), the 3 wheeling Jeep, the Kolcraft Contours 4 wheeler (this came in very close second but only comes in orange and my husband vetoed that color outright) and the Gogo Babyz Urban I found myself going back to this one over and over. Finally we hit a store that carried it to give it a spin. My husband was sure he wouldn't like it, but after putting our 11 month old daughter in it for a test drive as well as messing with many of the other strollers there, we left the store with a Brownie Kooper and are extremely satisfied. Including the husband.

So here are the pros and cons of what we consider a spectacular find. If you want quick why we love it just shoot to the end!

Pros:

LIGHT weight and folds very compact. Our (awesome) Graco system takes up the entire trunk area of the station wagon. We had it with us when we purchased the Kooper and so we had almost no room back there. So we put the Kooper in the backseat and it fit in between our 7 yo daughter and our 11 month old in her huge car seat.

Comfy with baby in mind. The seat doesn't let your kid slouch and is well padded but solid firmness for back support. I can't stand umbrella strollers on average because of how kids have to sit in them. Not a problem here. The shoulder straps have padding around them and one benefit we found not listed on their site or obvious in photos is that the buckles swivel, so you don't have to struggle to keep the straps straight with a squirmy baby. Just buckle her in then swivel them to the correct position- no twisted straps. It is also amazingly roomy because of how the bars arc around the child. They are smaller at the foot and the handles and wide in the middle, like those arc rod shower curtains.

Buckling the kid in is also a snap. As in snap snap done. Yet I can still tell you the babies can't undo it. Very secure. Our girl normally hates 5 point harnesses but was cozy and happy from the first.

The recline really is superb. One handed recline with no pre-defined height settings. Put it where you want it.

Maneuverability is a breeze. My husband can't keep up with me in store aisles as it turns on a dime and fits everywhere you do. You can easily push and turn the Kooper with one hand.

The bottom bars are high enough off the ground and far enough underneath the stroller that my 6 foot husband could not kick the axles even when he tried during our two hour around the store testing session. They also support the bottom of the basket so it can support more weight. (The basket is also removable for cleaning!)

The padded handles are very comfortable and at a good height for both of us (I'm 5'5" and he is 6')

The hood. OMG the hood. Canopy, sun visor, however you label it. One of the only strollers I've come across that actually has one worth having! The peekaboo window is also a respectable size and rolls up and secures with a toggle loop. The cool part is, you can unvelcro the hood and rotate it to cover the front of the baby. The top of the baby's back rest has a strip of Velcro that will then attach to the BOTTOM of the part the drinks hang on, and you have a foot more shade! Mind you, I would not leave anything in the cup holders at this time :D

Brakes work great, are easy to do and enough of a challenge to undo I don't worry about an accidental break release yet still simple enough to not annoy you.

Collapsing and setting up are also speedy fast and well done designed. The Kooper does have a latch to hold it closed when folded.

There are reflectors on the hood, the shoulder straps, the side and the labels. If you bought a dark one like me (we wanted one that hid dirt well, it is for long term use, there WILL be stains) these will really help with visibility at night.

Storage: The zip compartment on back is perfect for keeping sunblock, neosporin, band-aids, keys, wallet, etc... anything you want to have stay with the stroller and secure. The bottle holders are very handy as well though I would recommend getting an add on parent tray for open type cups. We mostly keep sunscreen bottles in them. A nice additional touch I've also never seen on any stroller are the mesh pockets in the CHILD area for them to store a favorite toy, snack, etc... and be able to access it themselves.

It has 3 heights for the shoulder straps, once again something to make sure it grows with your child.

It goes up to 50 pounds. For a lightweight stroller, this is superb.

Cons:

The handles are not height adjustable, this has never been a big deal for me but I know some people need it.

They do not recommend use until 6 months, so it IS technically a replacement or second stroller. It is not car seat compatible either.

The Kooper does not come with parent or child snack trays but you can easily buy affordable add ons to fix this. It seems to be a negative for most "Umbrella classified" strollers due to the way they fold- we have to remove the add on one before we collapse the Joovy since it gets so compact.

The cup holders are more closed bottle holders- I recommend getting an add on parent tray (Like the sunshine kids one). We use them to store our sunscreen bottles for us and the kids.

There is no bumper/safety bar if you look for that. Once again, there are add ons (such as the belly bar) but add ons do add cost to the overall price of the stroller. While I find the quality worth it, some may not.

The brakes are not for bare toes, they are sturdy and not meant to be lightly undone.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So our final opinion is: Awesome stroller!

The color choices give wide options (I hate how many strollers have like one or two choices and if you love the stroller just hope you can deal with the patterns)

The overall look is really nice. Looking from the front the whole thing is just nice curves and well thought out. Aluminum, high strength easy clean attractive fabric, and all the little touches (like the mesh pouches for kids, reflectors, swivel snaps, movable canopy and zip compartment) really add up to great value. It also passed rigorous safety testing. A+ in my book.

I hope this helps, and if it isn't the right one for you, I wish you the best on the great stroller search. Gotta love our babies!

"Best stroller I have owned!" 2010-05-06
By AmazinMom3 (Goodyear, AZ)
This is an AMAZING stroller right out of the box. Sanp the wheels on and attach the canopy and go. I can pick up the entire stroller with one hand and also manuver it one handed. It handles amazing and it really narrow in the front for those hard to get through ailes. The seat reclines almost completely flat and definetly accomodates a baby younger then 6 months. Love the canopy - it shades EVERY part of the toddlers body. Also love the pockets for mom and the inside pockets for baby to stash toys and a cup in, never seen this feature before in a stroller. It has very plush fabrics and amazingly, lumbar support LOL. I need that more then the baby. The price for this stroller is great - I would have expected to have paid at least $100 more due to the quality.

I only have 3 issues, but they are not enough for me to get a different stroller. I do not like that there is not a snack/belly bar for the baby, and they do not apprear to make one after market. The basket underneath is really flimsy and just rests on the support bars, it doesn't really hold up well, wish it was more ridgid. Also when folded it does not stand on its own, draw back when trying to juggle baby on the hip and get it in and out of the trunk. All in all this is my 4th baby and probably my 20th stroller and this is hands down my favorite!

"Love my SUPED up stroller!!" 2010-05-06
By V. Torres (Whittier, CA)
After reading everyone else's reviews, it made the decision easier to get the kooper. I love it!! Its streamlined, compact and good looking! I love the large canopy and the padded straps. The basket is a fine size and the pockets for mommie are a huge plus!! It is a little heavier than most umbrella strollers but I believe that's because of the good quality fabric and sturdy construction. But its much lighter and less bulkier than my travel system Graco Lite stroller. I already tried it out at Disneyland and it was perfect! I checked out the competition (McClaren) and it doesn't compare. I'm glad I researched it and spent the little extra money.

"reasonably good stroller with some flaws" 2010-04-11
By Petunia (Richmond, VA USA)
This is a very lightweight stroller that folds easily--I can collapse it with one arm and leg while holding my 9-month daughter with the other arm. Folded up, it takes up very little room in the tiny trunk of our tiny car. My daughter seems comfortable riding around in it, it's reasonably sturdy going over curbs and bumps in the sidewalk, and it was easy to put together. Its two main drawbacks are both a result of the sunshade. First and most importantly, the sunshade pops off without warning. So far, it's only happened when I was folding up or unfolding the stroller, but I'm worried it might happen while my baby's riding in it. I haven't yet figured out (short of duct tape) how to make sure the sunshade stays put. The less serious drawback is that this is anything but an all-weather stroller--the sunshade is too small to block the sun and would be ludicrous protection against any rain, wind, or snow. I drape a light muslin cloth over the sunshade and that helps block the sun. One more drawback: this is not a stroller for tall people. I'm 5'8" and I have to shorten my stride to push it. My husband, who's 6', has to stoop to push it, and finds that uncomfortable. This is certainly not a terrible stroller, and I still use it often because of its good qualities, but given the drawbacks I think it's overpriced.

 "awesome!!!" 2010-03-15
By Aurora A. Artates
I didn't have high expectations to start with but the stroller is everything that I was looking for in a simple umbrella stroller. It has the little speaker for mp3 players which is fine. It plays soft but it makes sense as to not blow out a child's ears too early. It nice and padded, my daughter loves riding in it. The stroller is easy to maneuver and although the reclining is done manually, it's not too bad. I like it a lot. It's nice and light if you need to haul it around too.

The stroller is everything you said it was. I love that it is tall enough that I don't have to lean over to push it.

 "Great Value" 2009-10-29
By Richard Harris
For this price I could never be sorry! We love it. It is high- I am over 6 ft and dont have to bend to push it. It folds like an umbrella stroller but works like an ordinary full size one (reclining and smooth wheels etc). We take the bus so a stroller that is easy to fold and folds slim is the best, and this stroller has those qualities. One COULD describe it as a little flimsy because everything snaps on as opposed to screws on but it hardly interferes with its operation. We also have no problem folding the stroller with the sun canopy attached. Look, its an umbrella and its CHEAP, looks smashing and works great- what more could you expect or want?!

 "AWESOME stroller!" 2009-07-05
By Jennifer Bothe (North Dakota, USA)
This stroller is AWESOME! It moves more like a full size stroller and the fact that it reclines is wonderful! I have absolutely NO problem with the shade at all. Folds up perfectly w/ the shade on and I never have to take it off. The only reason I give it four stars is because of the shade. It doesn't cover well, but it does end up getting the job done. This stroller is totally worth the money.

 "Love it!" 2009-03-20

I absolutely love this stroller. My husband and I had looked all over for an umbrella stroller that had taller handles and couldn't find one anywhere. When we got this one, and tried it out we were so excited because it was the first time we didn't have to bend over to push an umbrella stroller. Another definate bonus is the fact that it handles more like a full size stroller.
