 "Just what I needed!" 2010-10-02
By C.C. Pen (Large farm rescuing animals in need)
I bought this for my 3 year old for when we are using our bumbleride indie single stroller with his little brother in the seat. It fits very well and is easy to take on and off, the stroller still folds with the buggy board attached which is convenient. My son loves riding on the board and it has made traveling with my 2 sons much easier, now he can get on and off when he wants to. The only complaint is that when he is not riding on the board it is loud, not unbearable but annoying. Also you do have to adjust the handle bars of the stroller to accommodate my son and take slightly shorter steps so as not to hit the board. Overall it is a great product anything to make my life easier with the two kids is very helpful.

"Good product but very hard to install" 2010-08-05
By CCYP (Malaysia)
If you decide to buy the Buggyboard, you must be aware that Maxi size fits all strollers and Mini size fits small lightweight strollers such as Combi. Check the Lascal website to confirm before choosing.

I attached the Maxi Buggyboard to my Maclaren Techno XT stroller and it's the right size for my 4 y/old to stand on. My 4 y/old is not very tall and she needs to stretch her neck up a little while standing on the board to see in front. I'm sure it would work better if she was taller.

Installing the unit itself was such a pain because instructions were in picture form and each stroller has a different frame. I had to try about 4 or 5 times before getting it right.... hurt my fingers a little while doing so as the fasterners were quite solid and hard to turn (for good reasons! means that it's strong enough to hold the child's weight).... Plenty of questions popped up while installing this... do I loop around the spring where the stroller closes? Do I loop above the joints? If I do so, will the stroller close properly without cutting the fasterners? Do I attach the board to the front OR the back support frame of the stroller? All these are done via Trial & Error, as the instructions do not mention exactly where to attach the board as each stroller has a different structure. When installing, ensure that you do not block the 'joints' where the stroller is folded... this is tricky!!

Once installed, the unit is steady and gives good support for the child standing on it. The space on the Maxi is great!! I figured, if I had a Combi or similar smaller stroller, I would have used the Maxi Buggyboard too, instead of the Mini.

I have tested this unit over normal pavements, roads, and even over bumpy and uneven roads, it works great and my child never fall off. If I had to 'reverse', then I'd rather do a U-turn instead of walking backwards with the Stroller attached to the Board. The wheels are responsive enough for U-turns.

If travelling with the Buggyboard.... BE AWARE THAT THE AIRLINES CONSIDER THE BOARD AS A SEPARATE UNIT OF YOUR STROLLER.... IT IS NOT CONSIDERED AS ONE. What this means is that you will need to ask for TWO tagging numbers when they store your stroller before boarding the plane. One tag number for the stroller and another for the board!!! I was not aware about this and had only ONE tagging number given to me for the stroller.... as a result, my Buggyboard got 'lost' when I landed. I had to make a lost-luggage claim and describe the whole situation to the airport officer. LUCKY for me, they were able to trace my Buggyboard after 2 days..... Apparently a smart stewardess noticed that the board had no tag, and she produced a new tag for it, but she can't trace the owner. So after they processed my lost-luggage forms, they were able to track me and return the board. (Yes, they do not allow anything like the board to be stored in the stroller basket, so it's considered 2 items!)

Good luck in your Buggyboard, hope this helps :)

"Connector strap broke after 3 months. Ugh. See update for details." 2010-06-28
By myhale
After a lot of research and checking it out at a friend's house, I decided to purchase the Buggy Board Maxi for my Bugaboo Bee and Maclaran Volo. There is a comprehensive fit guide on the Lascal site where you can look up your stroller and which Buggy Board model works with it best. So, far I've only used it with the Volo and it's really amazing. My son loves riding on it, especially in crowded places. When he gets tired, he sits on it sideways. He likes standing though since he's taller on it and can look around. It's far lighter and more convenient then a double stroller which I just could not imagine trying to take around or maneuver with two kids. Once you set up the clips on the stoller legs, you basically have 2 latches that quick release the buggy board. We've had it about a month and have used it on gravel, sidewalks, etc. My friend is convinced that they only sell this on line because if people saw it in stores, no one would ever buy a double stroller again...except for parents with twins. :) I have to agree with her. I have to mention that I do end up walking a little bent over but I think that has more to do with the fact that you're now pushing around 2 little ones (45 pounds total) instead of 1. If you wear relatively flat shoes, the height of the board allows for your feet to move underneath it without issue. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Update: After 3 months of use, the connector strap broke off the stroller. Had read that other people had a similar problem but was hoping it was related to cold climate...not the case since it's summer and hot here. Neither the vendor nor Amazon will replace the broken connector so I will be returning the product. Very bummed.

 "Works well with MacLaren" 2010-06-15
By Jason "Wiz" Whittier (Jacksonville, FL)
Product seems to have mixed reviews, but we decided to give it a try any way. We have been using it for a few months, and so far it works very well. It is easy to attach and remove from our MacLaren stroller. No bad things to say about this product really. Worked for us very well.

"Worth every penny, but do your research!" 2010-05-26
By Erin Bickert (OH, USA)
We saw this product when our twins were first born, thinking it would be great for our 2-year-old. We planned to attach it to a cheaper-model double jogging stroller, thinking it would be a universal fit. A word of caution: if you read the product description, where it advises you to call Lascal directly for questions, I would do so, or visit their site (more difficult to navigate since it's UK-based). There seem to be only specific models that Lascal recommends their products to be used for. But the web site is great at even rating themselves the fit of the buggy board to the type of stroller.

So our plan for a $100 buggy board purchase led us to purchasing a $650 double jogging stroller to attach it to, but it is worth every penny! It is a bit tricky to install, and the directions are merely pictures with little in the way of word description, so it takes some time to fit and get the right heights, etc. We have found, after some use and changing the tire inflation of the stroller, that the Buggy Board needs re-adjusted for angle, as now it tends to lean forward more at the front of the board, and makes the wheels more difficult to swivel. But again, it is worth every penny. Our other stroller choices did not give us this kind of freedom. We purchased a lighter-framed front-to-back stroller with a standing platform on the back, and it did not compare to the system we have now. With the buggy board, we are able to negotiate easily wherever we go, including walks in our rural town with poor sidewalks. We've even come off a curb with the stroller and buggy board, with our toddler standing on it, and he didn't flinch. The shock system in the thing is amazing, and it's perfect for a toddler of an active family. Just, again, be aware that Lascal recommends only a limited number and type of strollers for their products.

I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to get out and about with their kids. Now when I go for walks, I don't need to do so at toddler speed; I can actually walk or jog with the kids if I'm by myself with them. It's great, and in the month we've had it, it has paid for itself.
