 "Perfect!" 2010-06-03
By Rachel Stella (Utah)
I searched all over for the perfect double stroller. The City Select was by far the best when it comes to a stroller that is good enough for frequent use (which rules out umbrella strollers) but not so big and bulky that you can't fit it in your car (rules out most jogging strollers) or take it to the store with you (rules out side by sides). The City Select is so much smaller and easier to maneuver than most double strollers, I can use it with just one child (I wish this stroller had existed when I had my first so I wouldn't have had to waste my money on a single) or with two, it looks great, the seats are so easy to take on and off and move around (way easier than phil and ted's), I LOVE the large sun canopy (a must for me with small children)...the list goes on.

Compared to some side by sides (like the baby jogger city mini which I also love) it is a bit harder to maneuver. But it beats pretty much every other double that I tried in regards to maneuverability besides Phil and Ted's. But the Phil and Ted's is way too short for me and has a list of other problems I won't get into.

About the weight. I really don't think it is that bad. I can easily put it in and out of my car and I'm no weight lifter. If I am having it go over a curb I simply put pressure on the back metal strip and the front wheels pop up easily. It takes like 1/4 a second to do and is easier to do than my single stroller. I'm not sure why some other people have commented on having problems going over curbs. I go at least a few miles in mine every day and have never had a problem.

I would buy this stroller again in a second if anything happened to it. Although I really hope nothing ever does because it isn't exactly cheep!

 "Great Stroller" 2010-05-30

This is by far the best stroller I have ever seen. After ordering the stroller from Amazon I had to wait 96 days for it to be delivered but it was definitely worth the wait. The City Select is wider than the average stroller and is very smooth. I like that I can have the seat face me or face forward depending on the situation. The bottom basket is very large but the stroller doesn't come with cup holders so you have to buy that separate. There are two steps in front of our house and the stroller easily goes up and down these steps.

 "expensive and heavy" 2010-05-26
By Catherine Mulderick (maryland)
So i too thought i would put my two cents in after seeing this in store. I started to regret purchasing the city mini when i saw this in store. My daughter is 7 months old and i purchased it before she was born. We just started using it within the last month. However, I must agree with the other reviewers. Although the concept is great, this stroller is super heavy. I love the city mini because i can fold and lift it with one hand while holding my baby in the other. Forget it with this stroller. Also having to spend another 129 bucks for a second seat means this stroller is 629? for two. Hopefully by the time I am ready for number two they will have tweaked the price and the weight of this stroller. Beleive me, I am all about quailty and do believe you geT what you pay for.

Summing it up for expectant moms/new moms

1) wait until you need the stroller before you buy it. technology can change drastically in 6 months.

2) Think about the total cost, do you want to buy 2 strollers totaling $500, or just by what you really want and grow with it over time?

3) Are you going to be alone folding this heavy tank and lifting it into your trunk?

As you can see I too think this is a good idea, but needs a few adjustments.

I still recommend the city mini for an easy, affordable stroller if you only have one baby.

 "Love it" 2010-05-05

For now, this review is for the single seat only, I'll update when we receive our second seat in a few weeks.

My husband, son and I love this stroller. My son is just over two and has not ridden in a stroller in over a year. Since we purchased this (the Bright Red Ruby color) he asks to go in his "fire truck" stroller constantly and does not want to get out. He is tall and the footrest seems on the small side for him. He does have plenty of head room though, especially if the canopy is closed. I assume he won't be in a stroller for more than six months longer or so, so the size isn't an issue for me. Yet he does seem to love it and be very comfortable. As well, I love the fact that once he has outgrown the stroller I can have it back to a single for the baby and add the riding board on for him.

Pros:

Pushes like a dream

Huge Storage basket

Son can climb in and out on his own

Super easy to fold

Seats come on and off very easily

Easy to use plus very easy to set up

Children can face in or out

Canopy is very large

Stadium seating once second seat is added (better than the P&T where one child can't see out, plus it won't tip when two kids are in it)

Cons:

Have to buy all the extras: rain cover, car seat adapter if you need it etc.

I would highly recommend this stroller to anyone who feels it can fit their needs. It is a fantastic stroller.

 "Just ordered this" 2010-04-30

We currently have a 21 month old and are expecting #2 in several weeks. We were looking for a better solution than the lower end Graco tandems offer. I like the idea of the side by side strollers, but they just don't work for any indoor activity. We are HUGE Zooper fans, but unfortunately they don't make a tandem so we had to hit the stores for some research. So far we've only played with the store model and our son just LOVED it and this momma loved how easy it was to fold and how quickly the seats popped on and off.

One thing I have to say though is that I keep reading a ton of reviews about people who were forced to buy the 2nd seat kit in order to use it as a twin double (two carseats or carseat/bassinet), Baby Jogger DOES sell just the adaptor kit and it's $20. A significant savings over buying the send seat kit if you don't need it yet (or at all). We found it on [...].
