 "Great stroller!" 2010-03-11
By SFgirl (san francisco)
We've had this stroller now for about a month and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. We also have a BOB and needed something a little less major to take to the mall/ store etc... It's definitely filled this need. I LOVE how stylish it looks... we have it in the red color and I'm very happy with this choice- it's not too bright like some of the other color choices. Although the brown color is nice too- if you're looking for something really low profile. This stroller looks expensive but doesn't come with the huge price tag like some of the others in the same category. Another concern of mine was hitting the back of the wheels when you walk... I'm 5'8 and the joovy is great- I don't hit the back of the wheels and the handles are high enough for me so I'm not slouching over to push it.

A few things I'm not too crazy about... the lever to stop the wheels seems to get stuck and I have to sometimes reach down to unlock it... it may be because the stroller is fairly new and I have to break it in a little bit. It's not a big deal but that's the reason I took off one star.

Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it!

 "Exactly what I wanted!" 2010-02-15
By R. Knapp (Scottsdale, AZ)
Sold my Macleran Volo for the Kooper. Its such a neat little stroller. I can hang a diaper bag off the back and have grocery bags hanging off of each handle and remove my child from the stroller without it tipping over backwards! Couldnt do that with the Volo. It folds easy, fabric is nice, rolls very smoothly. Couple cons are the cup holders are useless unless you have very small drinks and the lock is a pain the butt. Should have made it out of a hard plastic that automatically locks rather than the rubber that you have to pry on and off the little bolt. Even with those problems, its awesome.

 "Excellent Umbrella-type stroller" 2010-02-05
By H. Davis (Suburbs of Chicago)
After much debate and research, and going back and forth, we opted for the Joovy Kooper when we got rid of our Chicco travel system. It just came the other day, and I was able to put it together BY MYSELF (no tools or husband necessary) in less than 10 minutes.

It is extremely sturdy, not wobbly at all. The sunshade is ridiculously huge...can't wait to use it if the sun ever comes out here (middle of winter in Chicago!), and it retracts in stages so you don't have to have it ALL the way forward if you don't want to. There is actually a suspension in the back wheels, which we were pleasantly surprised to find once we got the stroller, as I didn't recall seeing that in any of the descriptions (we actually ordered the stroller from another website that had a 15% discount and free shipping). There are also 2 mesh pockets on the inside of the stroller so baby can keep a small item or two there, another pleasant surprise. The fabric is thick and sturdy and the straps are easy to adjust and buckle. I found you can also briefly push the stroller with one hand and have it go in a straight line, which is often hard to do w/ these types of strollers. I am 5'2" and my husband is 5'8", so the kicking the wheels doesn't seem to be a problem for us, as I've seen with some other reviews. I had my diaperbag and purse both hanging from the handles and the stroller was just as sturdy and straight. It folds relatively easily and while on the heavy side, it's much less awkward to hoist into an SUV than the full size stroller we had.

There are a couple of minor drawbacks, and you have to decide how important these are to you (obviously, they weren't deal-killers for us):

1. As with any umbrella-type stroller, you lose the capacity to use the stroller as your personal cupholder/bag holder/general dumping ground for coats etc. when you're at the mall with the family. The cupholders are a tad small (on the back of the sunshade), but they do adequately fit baby's bottle (we use a wide neck bottle) or a 16oz bottle of water. I think they'll be better used to hold keys/cell phone/snacks so it's not really a complaint.

2. The footrest does not go up and down, as it does with the Keekaroo Karoo (another stroller we researched). This may bother some babies but not others. Ours seems to be just fine in it.

3. The footbrakes take some getting used to. They're a little stiff, but they do work just fine. It is nice that you can just do one side and both wheels brake. Same with unlocking the wheels.

Overall, we're very pleased with this product and are glad we purchased it! If anything changes we'll update again.

"Only the best stroller ever!" 2010-01-11
By Carrie Bayne (San Antonio Texas)
I LOVE this stroller. I consider it a full size umbrella stroller. Folds ultra small. It stays in my SUV, use it multiple times daily, 5 point harness, has fun convenient storage, has a huge canopy and reclines. Folds to the size of an umbrella stroller. I have had so many questions and compliments on it. LOVE IT. We don't use anything else. In fact, we got rid of our old full size stroller. I'm telling you, I couldnt be happier. I use it all the time, every where, and it is so easy to fold and unfold. Like I said, it folds to the size of an umbrella stroller, but is more like a full size stroller.
